Joshua Jordan
Lead Pastor
Josh began serving at Lifegate as a pastoral intern in 2009 after graduating from the Sovereign Grace Pastors College. He was ordained as a pastor in 2011 and was installed as the Lead Pastor in 2018.
Josh is a native Texan who grew up in the DFW area and has grown to love Seguin and the surrounding community. He has been married to Amanda since June 2004 and they have three children together, two girls and a boy: Sydney, Noah, and Elizabeth. The Jordan family also consists of two beloved Boston Terriers; Dewey and Lucy. Josh enjoys spending time reading, going on dates with his wife, and cheering for the Texas Rangers and for the Dallas Cowboys.
Bob Odom
Pastor
Bob founded Lifegate Church in 1981. For 37 years Bob served the congregation as the Lead Pastor until 2018 when he transitioned out of the role. Bob continues to serve on the pastoral team, where he teaches regularly and is part of the preaching rotation. Bob oversees the prayer ministry, visits the sick, and extends care to the elderly members of the congregation. Bob leads a Home Group and Psalms & Lunch. He also serves in various leadership roles at Lifegate Christian School. Pastor Odom received his BA from Asbury College and his MDiv from Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary. Bob is married to Cindy, and they have two daughters (Evangeline and Rose), and five grandchildren.
Jack Deetjen
Pastor
Jack Deetjen, MD joined the pastoral team as a bi-vocational elder in 2015. Jack oversees the men’s ministry and home groups ministry of the church. He also helps oversee the adult Sunday school class and is on a regular teaching rotation. Jack earned a BA from University of Texas at Austin and a MD degree from Baylor College of Medicine. He arrived in Seguin in 1992 after 9 years of active-duty service with the US Air Force. While in the Air Force, he did orthopedic surgery training in San Antonio, and served 4 years in Riverside, CA. Jack and his wife Debra (married since 1979) have four married children and eleven grandchildren.
Gerard Lopez
Administrator
Gerardo “Gerard” was born and raised in San Antonio, TX. He was an information technology manager for almost 30 years, serving small and large businesses, primarily as a data and business analysis project manager. Gerard joined Lifegate Church in 2002 serving on the worship team, as a deacon for finance, and as the principal for Lifegate Christian School. He has been a local real estate agent since 2015. Gerard currently serves as the church administrator, and still plays drums with the worship team on Sundays. Gerard and Mary, his wife since 1986, are blessed to have twin daughters, Marisa Lopez and Adriana Reynolds, and son-in-law Zac Reynolds.
